Teeth Whitening

Your smile is one of the first things people notice about you, so a whiter, brighter smile will make a good impression and give you more confidence.

Your lifestyle and the ageing process will both contribute to darkening teeth. Whitening your teeth will quickly get your smile looking its best. Our procedures are fast and convenient, long lasting, have low sensitivity and are clinically proven to be safe and effective.

The big plus for having your teeth professionally whitened with Peppermint is that your treatment is being provided by a team who understands all aspects of your mouth, your teeth and the surrounding soft tissues. We offer two methods of whitening, both using a product called Zoom!

"The treatment of teeth whitening is amazing, I am so so happy with my clean and bright smile. 5 stars and highly recommended."

In Chair Whitening Treatment

Step 1:
Consultation - One of our dentists will see you to assess your suitability for whitening treatment. Patients who have existing crowns, veneers, bridges or composite fillings will find whitening treatment will be compromised. This is because the whitening material will not permeate the artificial material. At consultation, you will be able to discuss options and with our guidance you will be able to make an informed decision on the suitability of whitening treatment for you. At consultation we will go trough the consent to treatment form with you and you can take this home to read too. Of course  we are very happy answer all questions for you either at the consultation or you are welcome to contact a member of the Peppermint Team after you have left the practice.

Step 2:
Impressions - To achieve optimum results with your tooth whitening, included in this treatment is the provision of trays to allow continuous applications at home. Your trays are made specifically for you, so we will take impression (and this can be done at the consultation appointment to save a visit) and our dental lab will construct your trays in a few days.

Step 3:
Treatment Day - The treatment session can be between 1 and 2 hours, so please make sure you are comfortable in all respects before we start. It's a good idea to have your regular meals and it's a good idea to wear something comfortable (and that doesn't crease!) We hope our calm and relaxed ambience will make your time in the dental chair a pleasant one. Before we start, we will look at your current shade and assess the shade we wish to achieve. If you are happy to do so, we like to take a before and after picture however if you prefer not, just say. This 'in chair' treatment is provided in 3 or 4 15 minute cycles and we will talk to you explaining everything we do all the way through. The number of cycles s determined by the shade you start with to the shade you wish to achieve.

Step 4:
At Home - Your trays will be ready and they will be checked to ensure comfortable once in your mouth. We will show you how to load your trays with the whitening material to use at home and give clear instruction on how to look after your new smile. Of course after you have returned home, should have have worries or questions, please give the team a shout.

At Home Whitening Treatment

Step 1:

As with the in chair, patients who have existing crowns, veneers, bridges or composite fillings will find whitening treatment will be compromised. This is because the whitening material will not permeate the artificial material. At consultation, you will be able to discuss options and with our guidance you will be able to make an informed decision on the suitability of whitening treatment for you.

Step 2:
Impressions - To enable this treatment we will provide you with your own custom made trays. We can take your impressions at the consultation appointment and again our dental lab will take a few days to make your trays.

Step 3:
First Treatment - we will arrange for you to come in and have your firs treatment here with us at the practice. We do this to ensure you can see exactly what we do and what you will need to do at home. Equally, by performing the first treatment at the practice, we can ensure if you have any reaction with the materials, you are in safe hands.

After all whitening treatments you will leave with post application instructions and advice on how to look after your new smile including advice of the food and drinks you will need to avoid such as red wine, tomato sauce and coffee.
